Device Loan Support Liaison

Job Description

The Greer Group is recruiting a Device Loan Support Liaison for our client in Raleigh.  This is a long-term temporary position for 1 year, with the possibility to be further extended!
Hours are Monday –Friday, 8: 00 AM –5 PM, in office.  
  • Assist with the initial setup and staff support for Chromebook and Hotspot Loan program with Public Libraries.
  • Participate in discussion and training regarding ideal configuration and setup for device management.
  • Unbox, sort, and prep devices upon delivery.
  • Add Chromebooks to device management platform inventory.
  • Perform first time setup and configuration for Chromebooks.
  • Help develop support and instruction documentation for library staff regarding their role in storing, maintaining and resetting devices, as applicable.
  • Deliver devices to relevant libraries to help with initial storage and to provide training/Q&A about staff’s role in technical aspects of circulating devices.
  • Launch and post-launch, this staff member will be the go-to for questions and staff troubleshooting that are likely to be of high volume.
  • Perform regular onsite visits to libraries with devices to loan to touch base about issues, pick up troublesome hardware and provide general support and Q&A.
  • Triage for verifying if an issue is an easy fix or warrants a warranty replacement.
  • Primary contact for expanding the service from launch locations to other locations.
  • Assist the IT department with general library IT support duties when not directly occupied with device loan support.
  • Comfortable traveling among library locations in the county. 

Job Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in providing IT helpdesk and/or desktop support.
  • Preferred that the above experience be in a library, school or similar educational setting.
  • Strongly preferred: experience supporting Chrome OS via the Chrome OS Administration platform.
  • Associate’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Complete a background check.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Skills working with the public and diverse populations.
  • Skill in conveying understandable explanations and information regarding technology in the course of providing support to library staff.
