We are looking for a trustworthy, energetic, hardworking construction worker for our service area which includes the southeastern U.S. The position involves working as part of a 2-3 person team repairing underground and aboveground tanks. Training will be provided. The majority of this work is driven by EPA environmental regulations.
Tank repair includes internal and external repair and modifications to steel and fiberglass tanks. Products stored in these tanks range from fuels (diesel-fuel oil and gasoline) to waste-water –food products and chemicals. Work activities include excavation –jack-hammering/concrete saws - cleaning tanks –inspection –grinding rust scale –application of epoxy resin, etc.
Responsibilities:
Being member of 2-3 person crew
Working safely and following OSHA and safety policies
Traveling 47-48 weeks per year to various job sites in our service area
Driving work truck to / from job sites
Excavation work including jack-hammering, using concrete saw and hand tools
Pressure washing tank interiors to prepare surface for work
Painting/lining tank interior with epoxy resin
Using measurement devices and writing reports for findings
Problem solving on site if issues arise
Other construction-type duties as required
Skills:
Physical labor –this job is physical
Experience with hand/power tools
Mechanical aptitude preferred
Being a self-starter
Able to follow instructions and ask questions when you don’t understand
Able to communicate findings/observations from the field site back to the office
Able to pass employment drug screening and random drug screenings
Have driver’s license and clean driving record
Rate:
$18 - $22/hr (depending on experience) plus over time for 40 hours worked/week. Travel-related expenses (hotel and meal allowance) provided in addition.
