The Greer Group is hiring for an Inventory Control Specialist in Asheville, NC! We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Inventory Control Specialist to support shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, and material movement operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring inventory accuracy, timely shipments, and production support while maintaining high standards for quality and safety.Key Responsibilities:
Receive, issue, and track finished materials and inventory movements
Print, pull, and process shipping documents accurately and daily
Prepare customer orders for shipment according to shipping paperwork
Verify part numbers and quantities for outgoing shipments
Ensure all inventory, stock, and packages are properly labeled
Perform daily cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies
Work closely with planners to ensure timely material movement to support production demands
Enter receivers and inventory transactions into the computer system
Provide backup support for the Inventory Control Supervisor as needed
Cross-train in inventory control, shipping, and receiving functions
Follow all quality procedures, safety guidelines, and operating standards
Support team collaboration and maintain excellent internal customer service
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Current forklift certification required
Minimum of 3 years of shipping, receiving, and inventory experience preferred
Previous lead or team leadership experience preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to read and understand work orders, pick lists, sales orders, and Bills of Materials
Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and inventory processes
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team
Hours:6: 00 am - 5: 00 pm, Monday - ThursdayPhysical Requirements & Work Environment: This role requires regular standing, walking, bending, stretching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Employees may also move supply carts weighing up to approximately 150 pounds.
