Summary:The Greer Group is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to support our phlebotomy team and clients in the Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina area, and expanded markets as needed. Job Description:
Oversee daily activities of Phlebotomists with focus on patient care and satisfaction.
Serve as a resource to phlebotomy staff.
Serve as primary instructor for teaching venipuncture skills to new and current employees, as well as teaching blood collection procedures to department staff using training checklists (ex: blood cultures).
Assist with candidate selection by reviewing resumes, conduct in person interview(s), identifies appropriate candidates for management approval or interview coordination.
Assist with new hire onboarding, coordinates screening and completes regulatory documentation. Provides guidance and training to new employees during onboarding, reviews policies and benefits.
Coordinate workflow across locations to ensure timely and accurate collection of specimens.
Serve as technical expert for all collection procedures and assist with difficult draws.
Receives “call outs”calls as needed, covering location when required.
Awareness of phlebotomy schedules, to ensure all sites have appropriate coverage. Communicates schedule changes with staff.
Maintains competency to perform registration and order entry. Train others to perform the steps for registration and processing with little to no errors.
Create and maintain employee files in accordance with CLIA and CAP standards.
Perform performance evaluations both 90 day and annually, counseling of employees with the feedback provided from laboratory management and physician offices.
Assists with writing of new procedures and the update of current procedures.
Reviews policies as required.
Assists with the development and maintenance of site-specific lab manual and procedures for current practice. Procedures are consistent across multi-site offices.
Recommend policy changes and assist with communication of policy changes to staff.
Assist with activities to support Laboratory Information System software changes.
Assist with payroll, review weekly entered hours, monitor and counsel overtime, approve for each employee. Address employee questions as it relates to payroll and time off requests.
Promote teamwork and participate in process improvement as assigned.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
Candidates must have a minimum of High School diploma and a certificate/diploma from an accredited phlebotomy-training program.
National certification (ASCP, ASPT, etc.) preferred.
Able and willing to commute to various locations each day (reliable transportation).
Must be professional in communication and presentation.
Prior Team Lead or Supervision experience is a plus.
Complete a successful background check and drug screen.
