The Greer Group is hiring a 3rd shift Maintenance Technician for our client located in Oxford, NC. This is a temp to hire position with the opportunity of growth! Pay: $28-$32/hourHours: Sunday-Wednesday, 8: 00 pm-6: 00 am. General Purpose/ Expectation of Job: Perform Skilled preventative and predictive maintenance functions. Perform basic equipment repairs. Confer with Maintenance Supervisor on complex issues. Perform other duties as necessary. Perform all duties with safety and regulations.
Essential Functions
Follow lockout/tagout procedures to maintain equipment safely.
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines;following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacture’s instructions and engineering specifications;troubleshooting malfunctions.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation;listening for problems;using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices;using hoists, hand tools and power tools;examining form and texture parts.
Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts;using calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and controls instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straightedges.
Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques;monitoring compliance.
Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
Maintains equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level;anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies.
Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
Shaft alignment, gear setup and precision timing of complex gear systems.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Self-motivated with ability to work with limited supervision
High-energy individual with a strong work ethic
High school diploma or equivalent required
Sit, walk or stand (concrete flooring and changing temperatures)
Be able to work closely with coworkers
Knowledge of equipment maintenance.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Time management, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
Good communication, interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
Good problem solving ability.
Intermediate computer skills.
5 years general maintenance experience required.
Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
