Job Description
The Greer Group is recruiting a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for our client in Fayetteville, NC!
This is a temporary position for 6 months (possibly longer). Must be able to travel as necessary to Houston, Chicago and Fayetteville!

- Responsible for optimizing Low Voltage Motor Control production through the improvement and standardization of tools and processes.
- This role will primarily be responsible for the Fayetteville NC production facility while working closely with the Houston and Chicago Service Centers as needed.
- Responsibilities will include day to day support of the manufacturing team as well as longer-term project management and strategy implementation.
- The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be called upon to prioritize department opportunities, research and identify potential improvements, and manage the complex projects to implement changes.
- Lead efforts to proactively identify opportunities to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and reduce Cost.
- Prioritize safety and develop solutions for open concerns.
- Provide day to day support for the manufacturing team, including troubleshooting for assembly, material, tooling, or engineering concerns.
- Develop or purchase manufacturing equipment, fixtures, and tooling.
- Create and Improve manufacturing documentation, including operator method sheets (work instructions), standard work, and other instruction.
- Employ Value Stream Maps to evaluate process current state and plan/execute future state.
- Implement Cost Reduction projects.
- Utilize lean tools, kaizen, and six sigma - train the production team.
- Manage capital spend projects for production equipment.
- Participate with multi-functional product development teams to ensure manufacturability of new designs through the ProLaunch process.
- Identify resource needs for the plant, assist in preparing budgets and major appropriation requests.
- Foster an environment that promotes Eaton’ s goals and philosophies and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork.
- All Other Duties as assigned by Manager.
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related Technology/Operations area of study from an accredited institution.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship.
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma techniques.
- Robust analytical skills and understanding of problem solving techniques/ tools including Six Sigma, 8D, QOS, balanced scorecard, and goal setting.
- Strong knowledge of business systems and manufacturing processes.
- Must be able to travel as necessary to Houston, Chicago and Fayetteville, NC.
- Complete a background check and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lean/Six Sigma Certification.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Experience with MRP systems, MS Office, CAD
