Job Description
The Greer Group is looking for an Experienced Test Tech for our Manufacturing Client in Belmont, NC.
Pay Rate $21.00
1st shift 7: 30 – 4: 00

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
1. State the primary function or overall purpose of the position.
The primary purpose of this position is to conduct mechanical and electrical testing to meet the demands of the engineering departments to achieve product development, sustainment, and certification goals. Additional requirements will be to help maintain lab test equipment, track test request status, receive, ship and track test samples. Support EHS and 5S initiatives and activities. This position will perform functions as necessary to support product development and maintenance activities which include assembly of products and test setups.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
2. List the essential functions (i.E. Key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished in order to fulfill the purpose of your position as described above.
A. Conduct various electrical tests in accordance with various agency standards for electrical distribution products, as required, to meet the product development and sustaining testing demands.
B. Record accurate test data on standardized forms for delivery to the project engineer.
C. Contribute to organizing and maintaining lab 5S environment to meet goals and to ensure maximum efficiency.
D. Assist in the development and enforcement of safety requirements.
E. Ability to work on multiple projects at one time to increase the efficiency in the lab and provide engineering on time test results.
F. Share knowledge with other technicians as necessary to improve technician pool’ s core knowledge and capabilities.
Responsibilities related to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS):
A. Support site MESH activities to ensure safe conditions have been met in accordance with appropriate legislative and Eaton safety policies. Complete all EHS Environment, Health, and Safety training assigned.
• Must maintain CPR Certification.
• Must maintain Red Cross First Aid Certification.
• Must maintain Power Industrial Truck Certification.
• Must maintain Electrical Worker Certification.
• Must follow all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocol.
B. Execute 100% of monthly safety inspection, in coordination with the M.E.S.H. Management of Environment, Safety, Security, and Health Policies.
Complete all EHS Environment, Health, and Safety training assigned.
A. Basic Qualifications:
• Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• An Associate Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Technology from an accredited institution of higher learning is required
• Electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and software aptitude is required.
C. Preferred Qualifications:
• Detailed skill in use of computer for test documentation and analysis are required.
D. Position Criteria:
• Critical thinking is a requirement.
• Working knowledge of test equipment and following procedures is required.
• Interpersonal communication skills are required.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members to problem solve is required.
• Knowledge of word-processing and spread sheet software is required. (Could be up to 50% of daily task.)
• Aptitude in the use of hand tools for mechanical assembly and electrical wiring of test apparatus and devices to be tested. (Could be up to 80% of daily task.)
