The Greer Group has an exciting opportunity in the East Asheville area with one of our top clients for an Engineering Test Technician. This is a hands-on role supporting product development and testing processes for industry-leading technology in cable and connector products.What You’ll Do:
Assemble prototypes and sample lots for performance and qualification testing
Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate product performance
Build and test electrical/electronic devices and components
Perform experiments, record data, and maintain accurate test databases
Manufacture test adapters and fixtures based on performance criteria
Install SMT components on PCBs;solder and press components per documentation
Work closely with engineering to develop and refine testing procedures
Support continuous improvement and customer satisfaction efforts
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Associate’s degree in electronics, mechanics, or industrial technology —or 3–5 years equivalent hands-on experience.
Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:
Soldering and PCB assembly
Reading technical drawings and schematics
Setting up and using network analyzers, TDRs, and high-voltage testing tools
Using precision measurement instruments
Ability to identify components and perform diagnostic tests
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documentation accurately
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and moving frequently
Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles
Vision corrected to 20/20 and color vision required
